Lunch Box Music@M2: Ming-Hui Kuo, Percussion
“Live Music for Hungry Ears”
Ming-Hui Kuo, percussion
Friday, February 3, 2017
Noon – 1 p.m.
Music on the Square, 21 N. Indiana
The musical menu for percussionist Ming-Hui Kuo's FREE lunch hour concert at M2 in downtown Greencastle includes pieces featuring marimba as the main course, with sides of vibraphone, saxophone, piano, gongs, triangles and many other tasty sounds.
The appetizer on this informal program of playing and chatting will be Piazonore, Alexej Gerassimez’s adventurous interpretation of Astor Piazzolla’s Libertango. Selections from David Maslanka's Song Book offer big helpings of warm and cozy comfort food for marimba and saxophone duo. The Concerto for Marimba and String Orchestra, in a piano reduction by Emmanuel Séjourne, includes two exotic sides: a dramatic, passionate and emotional first movement with a zesty second in a spicy Spanish dance style. Don’t miss this enticing performance in the relaxed atmosphere of Music on The Square.
A limited number of box lunches by Bon Appétit will be available for purchase at M2.
