Music on the Square, 21 N. Indiana

For the final performance on the Faculty Select Series this season, the DePauw Chamber Players — May Phang, piano; Tarn Travers, violin; and Eric Edberg, cello — invite local music lovers to join them downtown at Music on the Square on March 13 at 7:30 p.m. The one-hour program they have planned will pair the B Major Piano Trio by Johannes Brahms, one of the most-loved chamber works of all time, with Cafe Music, a distinctly different, jazzy Broadway and gypsy-inspired composition by Paul Schoenfield.

Schoenfield himself described this latter work as “high-class dinner music. . . which could be played at a restaurant, but might also (just barely) find its way into a concert hall.” M2 fits the creator’s prerogatives for preferred venues pretty closely. Not too posh—but with comfy chairs and great acoustics.

General admission: $10
Tickets for seniors, youth and all students are free.
