Based on the class-conscious, 18th-century play by Pierre Beaumarchais, DePauw Opera’s 2018 production of Mozart’s comic opera Le Nozze di Figaro explores the indiscretions of the aristocracy. As the extraordinarily crafted music illuminates the story’s narrative, shameful plots, mistaken identity, humorous coincidences and guilt-ridden confessions bring the play-within-a-day to an emotional and joyful conclusion! The DePauw production will be sung in Italian with English supertitles.

Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.” — Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
