The DePauw University Orchestra, conducted by music director Orcenith Smith, plays its annual Thanksgiving week concert, “Gather Together,” as students prepare for finishing up the semester and their return home. This program presents pieces that speak to the heart during this time of family gathering and reflection and include Gather Three, inspired by the 16th-century poet and composer Adrianus Valerius’s prayer of thanksgiving,We Gather Together,” and “Siegfried's Rhine Journey” from Richard Wagner’s opera Die Götterdämmerung.

About the Ensemble
The DePauw University Orchestra focuses on performing standard repertoire, creating a four-year overview that is a cross-section of music including most style periods, regional influences and genres. The orchestra performs concerts – often broadcast live on WGRE-FM and the Internet – and plays for DePauw Opera productions, accompanies student concerto winners, and performs with the University’s choirs, faculty and guest soloists.
