DePauwpalooza
“Listening for Difference”
Friday, Sept. 16, 2016

Celebrate the differences among us at DePauwpalooza, Friday at 5:30 p.m. The annual fall festival in Bowman Park has expanded this year to include not only music but spoken word. In moments between musical performances, readings that amplify the value and the act of “Listening for Difference” will be offered as a prelude to the DePauw Dialogue on Sept. 28. A variety of work and genres are on the program, which includes a reading of poetry from Rita Dove's book On the Bus with Rosa Parks as the University Band performs “A Movement for Rosa” by composer Mark Camphouse, and a closing performance of Michael Jackson’s Man in the Mirror presented by the DePauw University Choirs and Orchestra. Then join the community drum circle before the Moon Festival, sponsored by ASIA (Association of Students Interested in Asia), begins at 7:30 p.m.

Free pizza, refreshments and drums provided. The entire community is welcomed to attend.
