Young Artist Programs

Young artists come from around the state, across the country and further to take place in our young artist programs. The School of Music hosts the annual DePauw Honor Band for Indiana high school students, the annual Vocal Arts at DePauw for high school vocalists from any part of the world, and the biannual Young Artists Piano Competition for serious high school pianists.

DePauw Honor Band

The DePauw Honor Band is made up of outstanding high school musicians nominated by their directors. Over the course of two days, student musicians rehearse and perform great works for symphonic ban.

The 21st-Century Musician Initiative is a complete re-imagining of the skills, tools, and experiences necessary to create musicians of the future instead of the past. 21CM.org is an online, professional resource created expressly to help serious musicians thrive, not just survive, in today’s modern musical landscape. The site combines a magazine focused on people, organizations, projects and innovations with live events, and educational tools.
