The Judson and Joyce Green Center for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art facility that inspires creativity and innovation. The Green Center includes acoustically isolated faculty studios and practice rooms, technologically “smart” classrooms, superb ensemble rehearsal spaces, a technology center, a recording studio, a comprehensive music library, and three remarkable performance halls.

Kresge Auditorium

Kresge Auditorium is a 1,400-seat facility that houses a magnificent performance organ. Kresge serves as a space for the University Orchestra, University Band, and Green Concerts.


Thompson Recital Hall

Thompson Recital Hall, which seats 200, is wonderful for chamber music concerts and solo recitals. It features a 40-foot circular stage with an organ on the stage.

Moore Theatre

Moore Theatre seats 400 people and offers three stages, a scene shop, dressing rooms, and a full orchestra pit.  Moore Theatre is the main performance space for operas, musicals, and plays.

Music Instructional Technology Center (MITC)

MITC offers the opportunity to explore computer music technologies for composition, performance, and research, and provides a variety of digital audio services to assist teaching, learning and research.

The Recording Studio provides recording, mastering, and archiving for the School of Music and offers students opportunities for exploring the art and craft of audio recording.

Music Library

Encompassed on two floors, the library includes two classrooms and the mitc computer lab. In addition to books, the collection holds more than 12,000 sound recordings, videos, scores, and journals.
